Great news: Fear, Illustrated is now being printed! AS we speak! This book is a culmination of four years of illustrations that shows what scares us most. These days, fear is everywhere, I know. When I started this project, I had no idea just how much of a common cultural thing fear would be in our everyday conversations. So, here we are, mid-2016. And fear seems to be the dominant theme overshadowing many of our lives these days.
Had I known what I know today, I might have focused my illustrations more on the topical issues of the day: the upcoming election, terrorism, mass shootings. I touch on those things in the book, but they are part of the bigger mix that makes up the wide range of fears represented in Fear, Illustrated. Multi-faceted fear — always present, always on someone's back burner.
